We are looking for a Manager, Software Engineering to join our Engineering team in Bangalore, reporting to the senior manager of Software Engineering. In this role, you will manage a team of engineers and work closely with the rest of the engineering organization to build the SaaS platform. In this technical, front-line management position, you will simultaneously manage various ongoing efforts, including feature development, defect analysis, resolution, and software release management. You will work on cutting-edge technology of Containers and GoLang with a highly collaborative team that will help you learn and grow in your knowledge of SaaS platforms.
You’re the ideal candidate if you are a technically driven manager who has experience working with large, distributed teams, and driving solutions and deliveries on schedule and with quality.
What you’ll do:
- Provide technical direction to engineers, which are comprised of developers and leads
- Design and implement timely, high-quality software solutions to customer issues for Infoblox core products
- Work on features from concept to release through all phases of development, including functional, design specifications, implementation, unit, performance, and scalability testing
- Work closely with various cross-functional product teams
- Mentor and guide junior engineers
- Monitor the team's daily tasks and track and deliver key initiatives and projects
- Manage all aspects of software development, including requirement gathering, design, development, and testing of software
- Manage customer issues, escalations, and tracking customer SLAs closely
- Ensure the team complies with quality standards
- Coordinate and communicate with clients and internal stakeholders
- Stay current on key trends, especially in technologies and frameworks like Containers, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS Cloud, etc.
What you’ll bring:
- 15+ years of experience in software development with at least 2+ years of managing the software development team
- Experience in microservices architecture and container-based software using Kubernetes, Docker, and other container technologies is a huge plus
- Experience with programming languages such as Golang.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (EC2, VPC, ELB, S3, CloudFormation, etc.) is a plus
- Knowledge of DNS protocol and general networking concepts
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments
- Experience working on an agile development process
- Full software development life-cycle experience with a proven track record of shipping software
- Results-oriented with a solid work ethic and excellent attention to detail and quality
- Experience with DNS, DHCP is a strong plus
- Bachelor’s degree (required) or master’s degree (preferred) in CS, CE, or EE
